SCOTTISH FESTIVAL & CELTIC GATHERING April 30 - May 2
This annual event held in Bridgeport City Park features world class Scottish music, authentic foods, sanctioned solo bagpipe competition, sanctioned Scottish heavy athletic events, sanctioned highland dancing competition, as well as genealogy, Scottish breed dogs, and many other activities. This year the festival is proud to host the World Highland Games Heavy Athletics competition with the top 10 professional Scottish Heavy Events Athletes competing for world championship status.
Professional jazz musicians from major metropolitan areas throughout the Mid-Atlantic will gather for a weekend of performances and workshops. Two nights of dinner performances in a jazz club atmosphere featuring the fine cuisine of the Bridgeport Conference Center at Charles Pointe highlight the weekend.
The queens who will reign over the July Benedum Festival weekend will be chosen at the 7th annual Benedum Festival Pageant. Visite the pageant's website for registration information.
The festival runs Friday and Saturday at the Bridgeport City Park. Watch free concerts and fireworks shows, participate in the pet parade or 5K Run, visit the quilt show or other family activities. Bring the kids and enjoy the children's activities, games and events on Saturday afternoon. Other events related to the festival are the pageant and the banquet. WEST VIRGINIA BLACKBERRY FESTIVAL August. 5, 6 & 7
This great 3-day food festival has lots of wonderful blackberry dishes and other foods, arts & crafts, pro-wrestling, 5K Run, fireworks, games and lots and lots of free entertainment. Location in the Clarksburg City Park, ample parking.

This wonderful celebration of black heritage just keeps getting better each year. This street festival takes place in uptown Clarksburg along E.B. Saunders Way. Great food, games, entertainment and cultural events.

The Salem Apple Butter Festival is held at Depot Park in downtown Salem, drawing young and old alike to watch apple butter being made in open copper kettles over slow burning wood fires. Great food, games, entertainment.
